Mid-State Special Education believes that all children have the capacity to learn and benefit from the educational experiences afforded them in their community.
Mid-State Special Education serves as a leader in collaborative efforts among member districts. All students are provided appropriate and adequate opportunities to learn. This empowers them to lead productive and fulfilling lives in a complex society.
Mid-State Special Education, located in Central Illinois, is a four county joint agreement, which provides services to children with special needs, ages 3 to 21, who reside in the 16 school districts.
Mid-State offers a full continuum of services and staff, dedicated to providing appropriate special education services within the least restrictive environment. Approximately 2,800 students receive special education services from member districts, which have a combined enrollment in excess of 18,000 students.
Mid-State is divided into three service regions: Bond/Fayette Region, Christian Region, and Montgomery/Carlinville Region.
