2026-2027 Trainings

  • Paraprofessional Training: Wednesday August 5, 2026 from 8:30-3:30 (lunch is provided) at Mid-State Special Education office located at 202 Prairie St. Morrisonville, IL. Caitlin Gomez, Bobbi Fisher, and Keri Buscher will lead training on targeted topics related to your job as a paraprofessional. Some targeted topics: the role of a para, data collection, how to understand an IEP, 504 plan, and behavior intervention plan, how to document Health Aide services, and much more!   • Mentoring Session 1 Training: Thursday August 6, 2026 from 8:30 – 3:30 (lunch is provided) at Mid-State Special Education office located at 202 Prairie St Morrisonville, IL. Dawn Theivagt, Amy Knodle, and Brandy Buske will lead newly hired staff through the necessary beginning of the year skills. They will go over class lists, the IEP Procedural Guide, navigate the Embrace website, and more. Please see the attached flyer for more details.
  • ABA-Based Instruction Training: Monday August 10, 2026 at Mid-State Special Education Conference Room, Morrisonville, IL from 12:00pm-3:30pm presented by Emma Reichert Campbell, BCBA,LBA. Please see the attached flyer for more details.
  • Blended CPI Training – Morrisonville: CPI Training is Crisis Prevention Intervention; this training meets the ISBE requirements for staff to engage in a Time-Out, Isolated Time-Out, or Physical Restraint. These trainings will be a blended model, both On-Line and In-Person.
    • Morrisonville: On-line portion will be available to participants in July. On-line portion must be completed by August 13th. Participants will finish up this training with an in-person session occurring on August 13th, 9:00am-2:00pm (times might change).
    • Panhandle: On-line portion will be available to participants August 3rd. On-line portion must be completed by August 13th. Participants will finish up this training with an in-person session occurring on August 13th, start time 8:00am.
    • South Fork: On-line portion will be available to participants August 3rd. On-line portion must be completed by August 18th. Participants will finish up this training with an in-person session occurring on August 18th, start time approximately 12:15pm.
    • Edinburg: To be scheduled
